ProService Hawaii Appoints David Hijirida as New President
HONOLULU – ProService Hawaii, the state’s largest provider of HR solutions, is thrilled to announce David Hijirida as its new President, marking a significant step in the company’s journey of service and technology transformation. Hijirida joins ProService Hawaii at a pivotal time as the company invests significantly in its service, technology, and culture. He will be responsible for driving client value through its offerings and scaling the company’s service delivery.
“Over the last 30 years, ProService Hawaii has grown by focusing on Hawaii employers and delivering a comprehensive bundle of HR solutions to meet their needs,” said Chief Executive Officer Ben Godsey. “As we continue to evolve and expand, the appointment of David Hijirida as President ensures we remain well-positioned to innovate and maintain our strength as a Hawaii-headquartered company.”
Godsey continued, “We are lucky to add David to the team. His passion for Hawaii, combined with his extensive experience in building and scaling products and services, makes him the ideal leader to guide ProService through this next phase. His expertise in fostering strong execution and innovation cultures and his love for teaching will be key in driving the integration of technology, services, and people; and position us to continue innovating our HR services for Hawaii employers.”
Godsey will remain CEO, focusing on ProService’s long-term growth and investment, and expansion of its business model into select new markets. This strategic shift allows him to dedicate more time to position the company for opportunities while Hijirida takes the lead in overseeing operational execution.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Hijirida returned home four years ago after a 25-year career on the mainland, which included leadership positions in banking, over a decade at Amazon, and CEO and President positions with two fintech companies. He brings a wealth of expertise in product development, operational customer excellence, scaling processes, and driving innovation. One of his greatest strengths is building a strong, high-performing ownership culture.
“Since graduating from Punahou School and leaving the islands, I’ve been on a mission to grow and learn as much as possible with the goal of eventually returning to Hawaii to raise my family and help Hawaii-based companies succeed,” said Hijirida. “I’m beyond excited to find a place in the ProService ‘ohana where I can bring the innovation and operational tools from two decades at Amazon and at startups and combine them with a culture of Aloha. This role is an opportunity not only to give back to my community and help Hawaii business owners, but also to create a model for leadership at home. ”
Hijirida holds a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School, a Master of Science in Applied Physics from Cornell University, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also completed a post-baccalaureate program in Computer Science at Oregon State University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Hijirida is a Board Member of Squarelife and a lecturer at the University of Hawaiʻi-West Oʻahu.
